Dear minister,
Please revisit your decision on funding for sexual assault crisis centres.
As someone who knows more than one woman who has suffered from sexual assault and its devastating emotional, physical and psychological outcomes, you owe it to the almost 7 million females in Ontario to reverse your position on this desperately needed funding.
Why is this important?
It is absolutely imperative that the well-being of women, particularly those in rural areas, is taken seriously. Waiting lists are untenable and the lingering profound effects on these women, their partners and their children will fan out for generations to come. It is an incredible obligation that you have to all of us.
