Sign the open letter to protect reproductive rights and tackle inequitable abortion access in Canada
To Prime Minister Trudeau and Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos,
Thank you for speaking out in support of abortion care. As attacks on abortion services take place in the United States, it is important for Canadian political leaders to affirm their support for abortion care.
Despite this, access to abortion is not equal across Canada. We, the undersigned, call on you to protect reproductive rights and expand abortion care across the country so that everyone who needs it can easily and safely access this important healthcare service.

Why is this important?
Reproductive rights advocates have been sounding the alarm about inequitable access to abortion care across the country for years. In some parts of the county, you may incur travel expenses because there's no clinic in your community or you may be forced to take unpaid time off work. [1]
Imagine if someone with a heart condition or broken arm had to leave the province just to get treatment — we wouldn’t stand for it.
Expanding abortion care is the right thing to do. Prime Minister Trudeau and Health Minister Duclos can shore up funding for abortion care access in remote communities, increase access to safe abortion pills, and expand medical school training so nurse practitioners can also be providers. [2,3]
While the issue is dominating the news, we can convince Prime Minister Trudeau and Minister Duclos to walk the talk and protect reproductive rights and expand abortion care access here. Sign the open letter now.
