To: Chair of the Liberal Party of Canada’s Greenlight committee, Jack Siegel – Liberal Party HQ

No, to Eve Adams. Yes, to a local, progressive Liberal for Eglinton-Lawrence.

This campaign has ended.

I’m from Eglinton-Lawrence, and I’m a Liberal who has been active in the party for years. I want to rid Canadians of this Conservative government, including Joe Oliver, the government’s finance minister and the MP in Eglinton-Lawrence.

But I cannot, in good conscience, pour my heart and soul into an election campaign aiming to replace Joe Oliver with Eve Adams, should she be nominated. If you feel the same way, I ask that you join me in this call:

We the undersigned call on the Liberal Party to nominate a strong, local candidate who shares our progressive values in Eglinton-Lawrence, not Eve Adams - a candidate from the distant suburbs with questionable ethics and a long track-record of championing regressive policies.

Before the nomination meeting date is set in Eglinton--Lawrence, we ask that the Greenlight committee review their decision of allowing Ms. Adam’s to participate in this nomination race.

Why is this important?

We need to defeat the Harper Conservatives, and the battle for Finance Minister Joe Oliver’s riding in Toronto will be one of the most important in the country.

But why would we welcome Eve Adams? Let’s remember that Ms. Adams fought tooth and nail to run for the Conservatives in 2015 - and she’s only leaving the party after the Conservative leadership told her she wouldn't be allowed to run under their colours in the coming election.

How does that qualify her to hold the Liberal banner or represent the people of Eglinton-Lawrence? Our riding deserves better.

Let’s say no to Eve Adams. Yes, to a local, progressive Liberal for Eglinton-Lawrence.
