Guaranteed Livable Income For All
Right now, growing numbers of Canadians are struggling to feed their families and keep a roof over their heads. It’s time for a solution that works: guaranteed livable income.
Support for a guaranteed livable income is strong in Canada.
At a time when Canadians are facing real economic uncertainty, they need action that will genuinely make a difference. Creating a national guaranteed livable income can be the answer. This isn’t a new idea – it is one whose time has come.
We have the power to reduce poverty, help families put food on the table and a roof over their heads, and keep people working in good jobs. We're asking you today to have your party commit to implementing a guaranteed livable income that:
- Reflects an amount sufficient to live on in each region of Canada by looking at the costs of goods and services necessary to live in dignity;
- Does not replace but rather works alongside other vital health and social supports in each province;
- Is not contingent on participation in training, education or the labour market; and
- Does not decrease services or benefits for those with exceptional health needs or a disability.
A Canada where everyone can get by is not an impossible dream. With a guaranteed livable income, Canadians and governments can work together to fight poverty and create a better, more hopeful Canada for all.

Why is this important?
When people are given money, they use it to meet their basic needs like transportation, food and clothes. They secure housing and get jobs – often better more stable than before. Guaranteed livable income benefits Canadians, their families and their communities.
As we get ready for an election in the next year or two: tell Canada’s political parties that a guaranteed livable income is the solution Canadian families need.
Join our petition to call for a Canada where everyone can thrive.
