Launch a review of current piping inspection procedures at Saskatchewan refineries
Currently in the province of Saskatchewan no requirements exist for refineries to have a formal inspection plan or any requirement to submit regular inspection plans to a Provincial Government regulator.
In Alberta the regulator requires refineries to have a formal piping inspection plan approved by the province and refineries need to submit regular inspection reports.
We are calling on the Government to immediately launch a review of current inspection procedures for piping inspection at Saskatchewan Refineries. Moreover, that the Government instruct that review panel to establish recommendations to improve piping inspections at Saskatchewan refineries including establishing requirements for facilities to submit formal inspection plans to the Government for approval, to regularly submit inspection reports, as well as post those inspection reports at the refineries for workers to view.
