Equal Rent Control for All Apartments
Doug Ford eliminated the Provincial Rent Control on all apartments built after November 2018! Creating the housing crisis we see now!
Every single apartment which endured rent increase above the provincial legislated limits, should be recalculated and refunds given to each tenant during their tenancy!

Why is this important?
Thousands of tenants in Ontario who rent now or did since 2018 lease units in new buildings were given rent increases ranging from 10% to 30% !
The landlords owning buildings built before 2018 have to obey the yearly limited increase around 2.5%
For example, you rent in a hundred year old building versus a new built building! The upkeep for the 100 year old building is way above the legal rent increase whilst a new building upkeep is far below!
Yet all tenants in new buildings are facing unexpected financial challenges due largely to Doug Ford’s legislation enacted in November 2018!
It must be challenged and revoked! And most importantly the tenants who were charged rent increases above the national yearly maximum must be compensated accordingly!
